It's Not Applause I'm Chasing. It's the Click.

What do you do when you are definitely not the smartest person in the room? You volunteer to facilitate. 😄

That's exactly what I got to do with this group in Addis Ababa — sharing leadership content from the Global Leadership Network alongside A Bright Future for Kids, and getting to facilitate discussion with some incredible community, business, and church leaders from around the city.

Honestly, I learned as much as I taught. Sitting at those round tables, guiding the conversation, and watching leaders from a completely different culture wrestle with the exact same questions I wrestle with — how do we lead well, build healthy teams, and lead with faith instead of just strategy — was humbling in the best way.

I also want to point the spotlight at A Bright Future for Kids www.abrightfutureforkids.org, because what they're doing in Ethiopia is remarkable. Their work supporting single moms and their families goes so much deeper than a one-time handout. They're walking alongside these families for the long haul — helping moms build stable futures for their kids, and surrounding entire communities with leaders equipped to keep that momentum going long after the sponsors go home.

Grateful for this trip, and for every leader who let a facilitator who was definitely not the smartest person in the room pull up a chair at their table.
