Leadership Wisdom from an Unlikely Source

Someone asked recently about the leadership video content we share weekly with our team at Fulling Management & Accounting.

Most weeks, we pull from great leadership voices such as —

John Maxwell. Craig Groeschel. Jon Acuff.

Solid, proven, insightful.

And then… one week… we brought in Gru from Despicable Me. 🟡😈

In a short two-minute movie clip, the story quietly hits on some of the hardest leadership realities:

• Facing real challenges

• Being vulnerable enough to say, “I don’t have all the answers”

• Inviting input instead of pretending certainty

• Leaning into teamwork

• Recasting the vision

• Re-energizing the team to go after the BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal)

What struck me wasn’t the humor — it was the truth underneath it.

Sometimes the most powerful leadership move isn’t having all the answers.

It’s having the courage to invite others into the journey — and trusting that together, you’ll reach the destination.

Even if that destination happens to be… the moon. 🌙🚀
