Passing the Baton: A Legacy of Faith, Service, and Leadership

Before there were “social media influencers,” there were in-person influencers.

My friend Jim Martin has been one of those for me.

Years ago, Jim founded Honduras Ministries with a heart to see communities in Honduras transformed through the gospel — breaking the bonds of poverty and oppression by providing access to education, food, and medical care for the most vulnerable.

Jim’s passion for serving others has been contagious. He’s inspired me (and our family) to travel to Honduras several times and see firsthand how hope, when paired with hard work and faith, can change entire communities.

Through cancer, COVID, and every obstacle in between, Jim’s drive for the mission hasn’t slowed down.

This weekend, I had the privilege of hearing him share his vision for the future as he begins passing the baton to the next generation of leaders who will carry Honduras Ministries forward.

That’s what true leadership looks like — raising up others to continue what you’ve started and take it even further.

Jim is living proof that your calling doesn’t end when your career or title does.

You may not be called to Honduras, but you are called to serve — right where you are.
