A Season of Stillness

This summer was supposed to be full of miles, races and time on the walking trail with friends.

Instead, a knee surgery hit pause on my running plans.

But sometimes the unplanned interruptions become divine invitations.

With the extra downtime, I’ve had space to reflect, write, and tackle a few “someday” projects that never made the cut in the daily grind.

I was reminded of a powerful truth from Dr. Arthur Brooks in his book "From Strength to Strength" —

“In the second half of life, success isn’t about climbing higher…

It’s about shifting from achievement to wisdom, from striving to serving.”

Maybe this slowdown wasn’t a setback, but a setup for something richer.

-Not chasing new personal bests on the trail...

-But chasing deeper clarity, purpose, and peace off of it.

If you’re like me and have been forced to pause, ask yourself:

What strength might be waiting in your stillness?
