From Two Pigs to a Powerful Vision: Christine’s Story
Let me introduce you to a leader worth following.
Living in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya, with no money, little education and abandoned by her husband to raise their children, Christine was literally at rock bottom. She wasn’t asking “How do I thrive?” but rather “How do I survive?”
It was while she was at her lowest, she was introduced to the organization, A Bright Future for Kids. One of their key initiatives includes empowering and equipping young single moms to become entrepreneurs and self-sufficient.
During the 3-year program Christine received a small stipend to help her meet basic needs, invest in her business and begin a small savings plan. Of the many options she had, she chose to raise pigs.
After our team from the U.S. got to celebrate Christine and her classmates graduate from the program, we got to see her operations. Starting out with 2 pigs and already grown to 12, her dream is to grow her operation to actively managing 100 pigs!
Her smile, self-confidence and business acumen are now off the charts. So much so, that some of her fellow classmates are asking how they can invest in her operations.
She now can take care of her children and truly provide them with a bright future.
Christine so embodies our mission at Fulling Management & Accounting of Get Clarity, Grow Profits and Gain Peace of Mind. She is living proof of what happens when someone gets the help they need to believe in themselves—and take action.
