What Started with a 6K Run Led Me to the Heart of Ethiopia

Hard to believe it’s been 8 years since I first got connected with Team World Vision.

What started with a simple 6K run turned into a journey of half marathons and fundraisers—all to support clean water efforts in Ethiopia. I never imagined those early steps would one day lead me to walk the grounds of World Vision Ethiopia in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia!

Our Kansas City crew was warmly welcomed by Mesrach Ayele, a true rockstar who serves as a donor liaison. She organized an incredible visit for us—including a powerful presentation by both the Field Operations Director and the W.A.S.H. (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) Director.

We heard firsthand the life-changing work being done—millions now have access to clean water because of this mission.
