Great Leaders Lead with Consistency
Great Leaders Lead with Consistency
The best leaders don’t just react to problems—they build systems that solve them.
That’s exactly what Moolu has done in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. What began as helping one single mom watch her child has grown into a safe haven for over 60 toddlers, all under the age of three.
When we walked into the daycare’s small courtyard, 60 little hands shot up into the air—each child eager to be picked up, hugged, or simply acknowledged. That kind of joyful welcome doesn’t happen by accident.
Moolu leads with quiet strength and remarkable consistency. Every part of the day had a rhythm: noses wiped, hands washed, tiny feet guided toward lunch and nap time without chaos or coaxing. These kids knew what to expect—and that’s the power of consistent leadership.
As a grandparent of a 3-year-old myself, I was amazed. Each child sat patiently for their bowl of food—no fussing, no whining. Then, one by one, they removed their shoes and found their place on the mattresses in the next room.
Twelve kids to a mattress, yet not a peep. Some drifted off to sleep immediately. Others simply lay quietly, fully secure in their routine and surroundings.
What Moolu has built is nothing short of inspiring. And it’s a powerful reminder:
When leaders lead with consistency, people (even little ones) feel safe, valued, and free to thrive.
P.S. Thanks to A Bright Future for Kids for supporting Moolu and the work she is doing to serve single mom's and their families.
